Plate Type Theremin

Here's a picture of Arthur Harrison playing an early 'Plate Type' Theremin that he built.

Art says, "I have found the hand positions for flat plate antennas to induce much less stress than the positions commonly used with the monopole, on traditional instruments. It seems that the reduced stress with the "natural," palms-downward position makes pitch control much easier, and such positions are probably more healthful for the joints. Finger articulation, by the way, is readily adaptable to plates as well as monopoles."

More on this and other projects he's done can be found at: Art's Theremin Page.
